Down Tempo Fix, Vol. 1
The Airplane, a French indie-rock group fronted by jack-of-all-trades Arthur Gamblin, crafts an alluring synthesis of a diverse array of genres ranging from electro-rock to trip hop and neo-psychedelia. With influences running the gamut from Pink Floyd and Beatles to The Chemical Brothers and DJ Shadow, the Airplane cast their soaring presence well past Parisian indie scene, touring all across the globe and even appearing in Elena Cosson Kizilova’s film Moscou-Royan. Thier kaleidoscopic, dubby synthpop offering “Future” is featured on the “Down Tempo Fix Vol. 1” compilation.
What the Press has to Say
“If you take a very promising band and add a eminently underrated album, you get The Airplane.”
– Barney, soundbathr.fr
“With so many bands labeling themselves as ‘electro-rock’ and all sounding vaguely similar, it’s good to hear from one such group who are taking an alternative option.”
– KevW, The Sound of Confusion
